Kratos Enters Fortnite [VIDEO]

It looks like one of Microsoft‘s most known characters will also follow suit shortly.

Tim Sweeney’s company announced that Fortnite’s second chapter’s fifth episode will include a Kratos costume. No, it’s not exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players – the cross-platform, free-to-play battle royale game will offer it everywhere. There will be one PlayStation 5-exclusive costume, though, namely the Armored Kratos Style.

„Take Kratos into the fight to save the Island: the Kratos Outfit is available now in the Item Shop—either individually or in the Kratos Bundle with the rest of the Oathbreaker set. Familiar instruments of Kratos await in the Oathbreaker set. Glide into battle with the Guardian Shield Glider—a memento of Kratos’ beloved wife Laufey the Just—and let wisdom guide you with the Mimir Back Bling. Plus, forged by makers of Mjölnir Brok and Sindri, harvest with the Leviathan Axe Pickaxe. Unleash the frozen leviathan by activating the Freezing Burst Emote, built into the Leviathan Axe Pickaxe and the first-ever built-in Pickaxe Emote. When you play a match on your PlayStation 5 after purchasing the Kratos Outfit, you’ll unlock the Armored Kratos Style—a celebration of his PlayStation legacy,” Epic Games’ overview wrote.

„Having Kratos in Fortnite is a mashup that we’ve been talking about for a long time, so it’s especially gratifying to see the collaboration come to fruition! The first thing I’ll do with Kratos in the game is holding hands or maybe go for a moonlit stroll with Mancake. I’m most excited about the Guardian Shield glider, that thing is AWESOME. I want to give a big thanks to all the devs over at Epic for the incredible job they did realizing Kratos in Fortnite. I’m truly in awe of their talent and passion,” Cory Barlog, creative director at God of War developer Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica Studio, added on the PlayStation Blog. Accessibility is only available until December 10. The Kratos Pack costs 3300 V-Bucks (except on December 4, when it’s 2200).

Meanwhile, on Twitter, we read what the data miners have found. It looks like Kratos is going to be shortly followed by Master Chief. Mang0e has traced back the origins of the image to 4chan, and the friend of the anonymous poster works at Epic – they were right about Salty Towers and Mandalorian Mythics before they were announced. It seems the Gravity Hammer and the Pelican troop carrier will join Master Chief, whose description is Master Chief Officier John 117. There are also rumours about a Halo-themed capture-the-flag-style event, which would be suitable.

So Fortnite tries to relevant with such moves before the game becomes the first one to use Unreal Engine 5 next year.
