Did Dying Light 2’s Collector’s Edition Leak?

We rarely see such a scenario: a game with – currently! – no release window after a few delays sees its collector’s edition’s contents leak…

Regarding Dying Light 2, we last time wrote that Techland‘s developers allegedly wrote on Discord that they „will be sharing exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon […] in the new year!” Maybe it might happen in the next few weeks or months, as it’s uncommon to see a game have such a leak without having a plan for the release date behind the scenes.

The image below is originating from a Czech retailer which has since removed the listing for Dying Light 2 Collector’s Edition. According to the image, in the collector’s box, we’d find a copy of the game (only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC…?!), a steelbook, an art book, a pack of UV stickers, a UV flashlight, a map that reveals the secret locations, and there would also be a miniature statue that features our protagonist getting rid of the zombies (which, according to Techland, became more deadly even during the day) with the help of parkour. The price could be around 210 euros.

If a retailer has such information at hand, then Techland might be preparing something, unless it’s an outdated image. (It’s best to have our doubts altogether!) However, if it’s not an outdated package, then it means the Polish team (which had Pawel Selinger leave it after 22 years, and he was said to be important for the artistic direction of Dying Light 2) is indeed planning something behind the scenes, and it’s about time, as we haven’t seen or heard much about the game recently.

Dying Light 2 might be launching this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. (Techland, which took the Dead Island concept over to Warner to create Dying Light, previously confirmed that their game will launch on next-gen consoles, and they will self-publish the sequel.)
