Elden Ring: Even More Leaks From PvP To The Locations

FromSoftware‘s next game might be revealing more and more of itself.

Omnipotent has previously talked about Elden Ring on the ResetEra forums, and now, he wrote that „PvP/Online stuff is in,” adding a few details about the character creation system: „[It’s the] same system that’s been used in all the Souls games until now. [It has] starting classes, but beyond that, you can do whatever.”

He then shared his thoughts about the leaked trailer: „I’m going to avoid detailing how this happened, but I will say that this was neither a “controlled” nor “intentional” leak orchestrated by Bandai Namco and FromSoftware to generate hype or something silly like that. It’s your usual run of the mill leak. This trailer was made by Bandai for internal use only and there’s a good chance From probably wasn’t even aware of it, let alone in control of it.

This specific trailer wasn’t intended to be viewed by the public at this or any other time as far as I can tell. I will also state that while I have heard that a reveal is in the works for “soon”(TM), this leak surfacing now is merely coincidental and isn’t an indication that anything is going to happen right this second. I doubt this “forces Bandai’s hand” into doing anything sooner than they want as it seems like they were already made aware of the situation before it going public anyway,” Omnipotent wrote, mentioning that the trailer lacks a few details: „I guess it would depend on your definition of a spoiler but it doesn’t really show a whole lot of anything and doesn’t even showcase some key features like the weather. It’s a pretty colourful game, and that was their intention. Not to say that there isn’t dark shit but more bright, colourful and vibrant is very intentionally what they were going for with Elden Ring’s visual identity.”

Then, Longqi Bangbangtang – who leaked concept art of Elden Ring in December – added that the trailer is indeed an older one, meant for internal use. His thoughts were compiled on Reddit: „That giant tree is the world tree he mentioned before, but it is only located in a certain kingdom and is not used to connect the whole world like [in] the new God of War. The narrator of the trailer is an NPC in the game, and he shares the same voice actor with Patches.

The castle at the beginning of the trailer is located in one kingdom, and the snow scene at the end is located in another kingdom. The character standing in the night is similar to the Xanthous king. [The] giant who pulling a wagon is a reference to the green man in Celtic mythology. That wagon must be pulled by these giants to move. The scene where the giant head is located may be a reference to Muspelheim in Norse mythology.

Given that FromSoftware designed the bosses and the maps first, and designed the NPCs and the player then, so the appearance of the bosses supposed not to change, but the location may change (in Project Beast, the Daughter of the Cosmos appeared in the church). This trailer is very old, from 2020 or even 2019. The game will be released this year, and the final product won’t look like this trailer, please trust Miyazaki,” Longqi Bangbangtang wrote. Project Beast is a reference to an internal Bloodborne trailer.

So Elden Ring might launch today, but nothing of this is official. It’s announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but it might be moving to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series by this point.
