And again, it’s Microsoft Store that leaked something – it seems the Redmond-based company intentionally do it to get attention…
The listing has been removed since for Tomb Raider Definitive Survivor Trilogy, which had the following description (we added the release years for each game’s base version): „This collection contains all the definitive edition content from each critically acclaimed prequel title-Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration (2015), and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (2018). With all the definitive edition content from each game, this Trilogy promises dozens of hours of breathtaking exploration, challenging puzzle-solving, and survival combat with Lara as she becomes the Tomb Raider she was destined to become.”
The trilogy’s listing mentioned that the games will support HDR, and they will all run on 4K resolution, but there were no mentions of next-gen enhancements for the Xbox Series consoles. The trilogy was listed to launch on March 18, but we have yet to see which platforms will get it. (Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S? Xbox One? PC? A combination of these? PlayStation 5? PlayStation 4?)
In late January, we wrote about how Tomb Raider’s IP is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year: „On Twitter, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix wrote the following: „We’re celebrating 25 Years of Tomb Raider throughout 2021, with community features, nostalgic content, and surprises along the way!” The tweet also included a video, which featured Will Kerslake, the director of Tomb Raider. He revealed that the next project in the series will act as a link between the original 4 (5… and no, we are not including The Angel of Darkness from 2003!) titles with the reboot trilogy that ran between 2013 and 2018.
„We envision the future of Tomb Raider unfolding after [the rebooted trilogy], telling stories that build upon both the breadth of Core Design and Crystal Dynamics’ games, looking to unify these timelines. With Tomb Raider’s extensive history, this is not an easy task, and we ask for patience as we go through the process,” Kerslake said. This confirms that the next Tomb Raider will be set after 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider but before the first game that was released in 1996.”
So, when will Square Enix confirm this leak?
