TV2 Censors Explicit Scenes from ‘Hunyadi’ Before Marathon Broadcast!

MOVIE NEWS – Hungarian broadcaster TV2 has decided to remove all explicit scenes from the historical drama Hunyadi ahead of a Saturday afternoon marathon screening to ensure a family-friendly experience.

Following the show’s remarkable ratings success last week, TV2 has announced a special Hunyadi marathon on March 15. Viewers will be treated to all three previously aired episodes, followed by two brand-new episodes. The goal of the event is to capitalize on the show’s popularity and attract an even larger audience.

However, according to reports from Index, this marathon will feature a heavily edited version of the series, with all intimate scenes removed from the daytime re-airings. TV2 made this decision to make the show more accessible to younger audiences. Dobsi Adrienn, TV2 Média Csoport Zrt.’s Head of Communications, confirmed that all suggestive content will be cut from the first three episodes.

The premiere of Hunyadi last week was a massive hit, setting new viewership records for TV2. It not only outperformed its biggest competitor, RTL’s popular series A mi kis falunk (Our Little Village), but also established itself as the most-watched Hungarian TV production of 2025 so far. Detailed viewership statistics have been released by the channel.

Despite its success, the series has not been without controversy. Many viewers and critics have noted that the show contains an excessive amount of intimate scenes for a historical drama. TV2’s latest decision appears to be a response to this criticism, as they now aim to present a toned-down, family-friendly version for the Saturday afternoon audience.
