Moon Studios has regained the publishing rights for its next game, leaving everything in the hands of the Austrian team.
In a new episode of Wicked Inside, Moon Studios revealed some important news about the action-RPG still in development. After several months of legal negotiations, the Austrian studio has regained the publishing rights to the game from Private Division, allowing Moon Studios to make decisions about the game completely independently, and for a few more hours you can purchase the game at a 30% discount to celebrate.
No Rest for the Wicked will receive its next major update, The Breach, on April 30th. This will greatly expand the campaign, adding new areas, armor, factions, enemies and weapons. It will essentially double the size of the game. New locations: Lowland Meadows, Marin Woods; new enemies: Harvester, Balak Taw. New weapon types (gloves, gauntlet, wand), and the loot system has been tweaked to give us more variety.
The game world becomes more dynamic thanks to the “Alive” system. Factions and enemies make it dynamic. The plague system also unleashes powerful new plague enemies and bosses. Plague outbreaks now occur throughout Sacra, and players can clear these regions to gain powerful new plague resources. The update also includes a number of quality of life improvements. For example, you can teleport directly to your home, item stacking has been improved, new fast travel options are coming, spells have been tweaked, timings have been improved, and the storage system has been redesigned. There’s also a hardcore mode, and the visuals and performance have been improved and optimized with better lighting and Nvidia’s DLSS implementation.
The next major update after The Breach will bring co-op, allowing four people to play together. In addition, Moon Studios is planning further additions to the city, housing, farming and progression systems, as well as further refinements to combat. Gareth Coker, the composer of the Ori games, is back at Moon Studios and will be featured on the soundtrack for No Rest for the Wicked.
Keep up the good work.
