Rebellion’s game (which runs on their own engine, Asura) has been given its minimum system requirements on PC, and that can be a high bar.
Let’s take a look at what “British Fallout” needs to at least run properly:
Minimum system requirements:
- 64-bit processor and operating system required
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (no version number disclosed)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F or equivalent
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia RTX 2060 with 8 GB VRAM or equivalent
- DirectX: DX12
- Free storage: 60 GB
- Internet connection (for Denuvo)
Obviously Rebellion doesn’t like AMD, because they haven’t listed any suitable alternatives from them for either the processor or the graphics card. They also don’t mention the internet connection, but since they obviously list Denuvo on Steam (which they don’t really take out… but they should, since you can archive it later without “calling home”), we added it…
Atomfall will offer post-apocalyptic UK adventures, but it will be more of a survival action game than an RPG. Set in a British countryside heavily inspired by the real-life Windscale Fire disaster in 1950s England, it takes place in a quarantined environment where players must unravel the mysteries of a nuclear disaster while focusing on survival in a militarized zone. Doctor Who and even folk horror have inspired the design of the setting.
We discover a non-linear world full of complex characters and ambiguous moral dilemmas. The story changes based on your choices. The game is designed to be played more than once, and you will experience different aspects of the game based on your choices. The gameplay is not about shooting and sprinting, but about crafting, where we need to find the materials to get out of the quarantine zone. Weapons and ammunition are scarce, so you’ll need to combine ranged and melee combat. As in Sniper Elite, you will also need to keep your heart rate under control to keep your aim steady.
Atomfall will be released on March 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (but will also be available on Xbox Game Pass), and those who buy the more expensive verzit will be able to play it here three days earlier, from the 24th…
