Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time: The PlayStation Upgrade Isn’t Flawless

The PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5 upgrade isn’t that easy for everyone who owns Toys For Bob‘s game on PS4.

Crash Bandicoot’s subreddit has several players complain that they can’t upgrade from Crash 4’s PlayStation 4 version to the PlayStation 5 port that was released recently. They get an error message that says „You can’t buy this product for the following reasons: you already own the following products, which conflict with the product you’re trying to buy: Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – Tracker.” Tracker?

It’s simple: the error seems to affect those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4, and you had to wait until you were allowed to play Crash 4, so having a tracker involved makes sense here. Ask PlayStation has acknowledged the issue, and Activision Blizzard is also inspecting the issue, meaning it might be addressed fairly quickly.

Activision has also published a guide on how to upgrade Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5: „Before starting confirm you have an internet connection and you are logged into your PlayStation account. On your PlayStation 4, navigate to the “Select a Save Slot” screen. Select the slot with data you want to transfer to your PlayStation 5. Use your controller to select Upload to cloud. You will get a prompt to confirm the upload, select Upload to Cloud. You will get a prompt indicating the upload was successful, click continue to return to the game.

On your PlayStation 5, navigate to the “Select a Save Slot” screen. Select the slot you want to save your PlayStation 4 data to. Use your controller to select Download Cloud Save. You will get a prompt to confirm the download, select Download Cloud Save. You will get a prompt to enter your initials, enter your initials and select Next. You will get a prompt to select a playstyle, select Modern or Retro. You will get a prompt that the download was successful, select continue to return to the game,” Activision wrote.

Nobody said that the generation change will be without issues, and here’s evidence of that.
