Is Forza Horizon 5 Set In Mexico?

The next Forza Horizon hasn’t even been announced yet, but it’s safe to say that Playground Games has enough capacity to work on it.

If you think that this is the same team that previously announced to be developing Fable, you would be correct. However, let’s also not forget that they have two studios. They have the capacity to focus on another game, and seeing how Forza Horizon 4 launched three years ago (with the previous three instalments coming every two years), working on the next title would make sense. And we already hear where it could be set.

Last week, Windows Central’s Jez Corden has hinted that he should visit Mexico one day, followed by a car emoji. That alone says nothing, but VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb joined the party: „I’m doing my Duolingo Spanish lessons as well. El coche va vroom!” And that’s still vague, so let’s see what he said on the newest episode of the Iron Lords podcast: „Let’s start with the Forza and the Mexican flag — I wonder that means? The rumour was always Japan, I got some fake screenshots a long time ago, and it turned out that wasn’t real. And then Jez is “I’m going to Mexico with my car!” and immediately a couple of sources are “Ohhh, I wonder why Jez is saying that?” So, yeah, it’s in Mexico. Yeah,” Grubb said.

So Forza Horizon 5 could make us drive around in Central America, and it might not be official yet, it could be an interesting choice, as not many games have had such a setting (sure, F1 games have Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, but that’s a circuit…). It’s not official yet, but it looks plausible.

Forza Horizon 5 might be announced in June, during E3. Let’s be patient then.
