New video for the release of No More Heroes 3 (NMH3): Travis VS Gold Joe!

In NMH3, Gold Joe is one of the game’s bosses. Warning, this article contains SPOILERS of one of the final battles!

We won’t have to wait long for one of the most entertaining and personal games, NMH3 to arrive in the Nintendo Switch catalogue from creative genius Suda 51, featuring the new adventures of Travis Touchdown. This month, we got a sneak peek at who Travis’ enemies will be, the alien superheroes, via a new trailer.

This time, Grasshopper has shared gameplay footage from the final battle against one of these superior foes. This is the fight against Gold Joe, and it’s important to note that since this is a boss battle, you should be aware that the video contains spoilers. This means that the battle takes place on a special stage reminiscent of a boxing ring, albeit spatial and psychedelic, sort of like a real Suda 51. (We’ve posted the video here, but it can only be viewed on YouTube)

The floor of the ring is made up of seeming cubes of some mineral that you interact with and elements surrounding the ring that launch constant lightning bolts at you. The battle is set up for close combat, and you have to be very careful to dodge and make sure your opponent doesn’t throw you off the stage. There are different stages in the battle, which vary depending on who the enemy is that needs to be defeated.

IGN Japan has also published a 15-minute gameplay video, which gives you a lot more content about the adventure. Suda 51 has said that his dream is to make a No More Heroes movie or series for a platform like Amazon or Netflix, and while it seems that Travis has been approached with several offers, none of the ideas has materialized yet. But until that’s decided, we’ll be able to enjoy No More Heroes 3 on Nintendo Switch from 27 August!
