SteamWorld Creators Surprised Everyone at Gamescom with New Trailer for The Gunk [VIDEO]

The Gunk come to PC and exclusively for Xbox consoles with its beautiful science fiction world.

The new game from the creators of SteamWorld Heist was unveiled last year at the Xbox Games Showcase. The Gunk is a third-person action-adventure with a futuristic and sci-fi aesthetic, a genre that the people of Image & Form undoubtedly already dominate. In The Gunk, we will have to explore a forgotten planet to discover the secrets to help us save it.

The Gunk leads us to absorb the dirt from our environment and advance in our adventure. Rani, our protagonist, is part of a transport team in a mine in the galaxy when her partner, Becks, lands with her on an a priori sterile planet where they will only find dirt. This substance could be a great discovery for them that will lead them to decide if they interfere in an environment that is drastically affected.

Exploration is the cornerstone of the game, and our adventure will take us to discover different biomes with entirely different environments, rocky canyons, dense jungles or underground caves. Dirt spreads throughout all areas of the planet, and as we clean it, we will find a precious ecosystem before the arrival of this substance.

After scanning the environment, we will discover more and more secrets of our new planet. Rani will breakthrough with her prosthetic power glove, with which we can absorb dirt and that we can update. Its creators tell us that it will be a great experience to see how we recover the planet’s life. It will arrive on PC and exclusively on consoles on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S in December 2021. It will also be available on the Microsoft Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Remember that you have known the analysis of SteamWorld Heist, the excellent previous work of Image & Form.
