PlayStation Showcase Will Blow Us Away, God Of War’s Creator Claims

David Jaffe (who will be familiar to many veteran PlayStation fans thanks to Twisted Metal) is hyping up the PlayStation Showcase audience.

VGC transcribed a recent stream, where Jaffe said the following: “I’m not going to say what I know is going to be at the PlayStation showcase next week… but here’s what I can tell you. I’m not going to tell you what’s going to be there, and I don’t know everything, but I know a handful of things, and you won’t be disappointed if you are looking for the traditional, great first-party PlayStation. That will be there with flying colours, and I’m so excited to see the people’s response to it. I haven’t even seen what I’m talking about, but I’m very proud and excited.” And he might still have people in Sony who knows insider details…

Then, Jaffe wrote a tweet (with a few typos that we fixed; he was admittedly cooking while typing): “Here’s a useless tweet but if I don’t say something, I will explode! [I] just found out about a new PlayStation game they are making. [I have] no idea when it gets unveiled (maybe next week [at the showcase], maybe not), but know when it does, people are going to lose their f___ing minds! Badass!” It might be Twisted Metal. If that’s the case, Jaffe should be involved.

Here’s what we formerly wrote about the PlayStation Showcase: „PlayStation Showcase 2021 will provide “a look into the future of PlayStation 5,” including updates from PlayStation Studios and “some of the industry’s most imaginative developers.” It will start on September 9 at 1 PM Pacific / 4 PM Eastern. You can look for it on the PlayStation.com website, YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the broadcast will be forty minutes long, and it will not have any information about the PlayStation VR 2. The broadcast will be followed by a post-show, possibly giving us a deep dive into some of the announcements Sony Interactive Entertainment will have made.”

Let’s be patient.
