Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Trailer Ran in Real-Time From an Actual PlayStation 5

The successful PS4 Spider-Man from Insomniac Games sequel will arrive in 2023 with Venom and some more open-world action-adventure.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was one of the biggest surprises of the last PlayStation Showcase. Not content with announcing a new Wolverine game (Wolverine), the Insomniac Games studio will return to the fray in 2023 with this sequel to its open-world game published in 2018. One of its actors recently claimed a return to the New York of Marvel and its arachnid superhero that promises to be massive. And now we have more reasons for you to get excited about the game.

Through social networks, the director of special effects of Insomniac Games, Bryanna Lindsey, confirms what the most observant users would have already noticed: that the presentation trailer of Spider-Man 2 was executed in real-time from a PS5. “The team did an incredible job. Real-time VFX are tough, but I’m very proud of the entire team for pushing our quality bar.”

Along with this, Lindsey shares a fan’s video comparison between the presentation trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the one from the previous instalment, the spin-off Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It is a comparison where it is appreciated that this new trailer in real-time has nothing to envy its last game, despite being pre-rendered.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2023, yet to be finalized, which is expected given its long way to go. If you missed the surprises of the last PlayStation Showcase, we remind you that Gran Turismo 7 already has a release date and that we were able to see a first gameplay trailer for God of War: Ragnarok. Also, for RPG fans, a remake of KOTOR for PC and PS5 has been announced.
