Microsoft’s Kinect is Back From the Dead Again

TECH NEWS – The Sky company will collaborate with Microsoft to launch a TV with a camera, taking advantage of Kinect technology.

I don’t know if any players in the room miss the Kinect features. But if there is, you’re in luck – you’ll be able to meet this technology on a new Sky-brand television. In this sense, the next Sky Glass will have a camera to expand the viewer’s experience in different ways, which will be carried out with a collaboration with Microsoft and the recovery of the Kinect mentioned above. After ten years and apparent total abandonment, the return of a device once again occupies a small place in the living room.

Kinect, although it is going to test its functionalities in another area, it seems that it will propose the same features that it offered us during the Xbox 360 era, although at the time, it was not successful with the public. Therefore, and with the arrival of a new ecosystem, Sky Glass television will use an external device called Sky Glass Camera that, using Kinect technology, will be able to interconnect several users who wish to share the experience of watching the same program.

Fraser Stirling, Sky Executive Producer, explained this feature during the television presentation: “Synchronize your TV with other homes, with integrated video and on-screen chat, and you can choose content from significant channels, including Premier League matches, movies and all your favourite entertainment. ” In addition, and picking up what Microsoft has already tested on Xbox 360, the television will feature a minigame of Paw Patrol or Fruit Ninja.

Of course, it remains to be seen if, on this occasion, Kinect manages to redeem itself outside of video games, since at the time, it was branded a “disaster” and “derailment.” If, on the other hand, you cannot resist acquiring this television, know that it has six speakers and will be compatible with Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and Dolby Atmos, so it will not only have an already known camera, but it will also give an excellent experience to any viewer. And, since the Xbox Series does not contain a Kinect adapter, it can at least be used outside of Microsoft consoles.
