Neil Druckmann Has Finished Filming The Last of Us HBO Series

MOVIE NEWS – The creator of the video game saga has played a significant role in the highly anticipated series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

We’ve learned that Neil Druckmann, the father of The Last of Us saga, will play a major role in the promising series, which will adapt the video game franchise for television and be distributed by HBO. In addition to his producing and writing duties, Druckmann has also directed several episodes alongside an impressive, award-winning directing team that includes Jasmila Zbanic (Quo Vadis, Aida?), Ali Abbasi (Border) and pilot episode director Kantemir Balagov.

Druckmann’s involvement appears to have come to an end, as the director has left the team:

“…to the best TV crew in the world, thank you for your incredible work, your passion, and for making me feel so welcome! I will miss you terribly,” he shared on his Twitter account.

Druckmann also confessed that he is excited to return to Naughty Dog and joked about the warm weather that awaits him in Santa Monica, California. A release date for The Last of Us series is still unknown, but we’ve already seen plenty of images from the set, including Joel and Ellie in their “game” attire.

In addition to Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Anna Torv as Tess, we’ve also recently learned that Natasha Mumba would be joining the series as a new character, Kim Tembo. The unmistakable Gustavo Santaolalla will score the series.
