Keanu Reeves Would Love To Be In The MCU

MOVIE NEWS – The Matrix Resurrections star Keanu Reeves has expressed his love for the MCU and says he’s keen to join Spider-Man.

Keanu Reeves has once again indicated that he’d really like to one day join the Marvel Cinematic Universe – although he’s not quite sure where and how he’d fit into the cinematic universe. Speaking to ET Online, the beloved star of iconic franchises such as The Matrix and John Wick expressed his passion for Marvel’s ongoing film series, and while he has no idea who he would play, he knows that being a part of this universe would be a life-changing experience for him.

“Oh my gosh, I don’t know! I actually don’t have an answer. There’s so many wonderful films and filmmakers and artists participating in those films. It would be fun to be a part of.”

Both Keanu Reeves and Marvel fans have long wanted the actor to join the MCU. Reeves, who is about to reprise one of his most famous roles in The Matrix Resurrections, has topped fan casting wish lists for Marvel roles such as Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer and Wolverine. Although none of these has materialised, the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down, leaving the actor with several future opportunities in various roles.

Reeves is undoubtedly no stranger to the comic book movie genre, having starred in DC’s now cult classic Constantine as the titular supernatural detective. While Keanu Reeves may never cross over to the Marvel side, he still hopes to bring the DC hero back to the silver screen and recently revealed that he was trying to get the green light for a sequel. “I would love to play John Constantine again from Constantine… I’ve tried. I’ve tried, Stephen… Yeah, I would love to,” he recently said on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show.

Until the much-anticipated day when Keanu Reeves is announced as the Ghost Rider or another Marvel hero, the actor will next be seen in the fourth film in the franchise, The Matrix Resurrections, and we know he’s signed on for at least two more John Wick episodes, so if not as a superhero, then there are plenty more action hero roles to come for the famous actor.

The Matrix: Resurrections will be produced by Warner Bros. Pictures is scheduled to release The Matrix in theatres on December 22, 2021, and will also stream digitally on HBO Max in the United States for one month from the same date.
