Halo Infinite Xbox & PC Player Numbers Decline Significantly

Halo Infinite is no longer in the Top 5 most popular Xbox games, nor does it have as many users on Steam as it had once.

All wonders last three days, as the saying goes, and that’s true for Halo Infinite. There is no doubt that the game has been a success, with positive sales, a campaign that has even excited one of the franchise’s co-creators, and a recent 20 million users. However, it seems that the title has not really caught on, as the number of concurrent players has dropped significantly.

Halo Infinite is no longer in the top 5 most played Xbox games

Windows Central published this information based on data collected on Xbox and PC. On the one hand, Halo Infinite is no longer in the top 5 most played titles on consoles (it is now in sixth place), while on Steam, it is detecting something similar with over 25,000 concurrent users (a far cry from the over 272,500 in the early days).

Obviously, we don’t know for sure what caused the exodus of players, although the community is spouting various theories about the game’s current state. Speculations point to insufficient content on the one hand; on the other, many point to the bugs in the PC version.

As for content such as co-op and Forge, 343 Industries has already provided information on development and a release later this year. That being said, as we wrote in our review, Halo Infinite is a really great game – presumably, it’s just lost its novelty…
