James Gunn Reveals Information About Upcoming 2nd Suicide Squad Spin-Off

MOVIE NEWS – Along with the second season of Peacemaker, James Gunn’s second Suicide Squad spin-off series seems to be going well.

For James Gunn, Disney’s short-term firing of his Guardian of the Galaxy director’s role was a rare case of blessings in disguise. Thanks to Disney “letting him go” for a while, Gunn could get on the train in Washington, DC. Suicide Squad, After that, he began to have a very healthy and productive relationship with Warner Bros. All these issues have been resolved, and the director is currently working with both them and Disney. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 For Marvel Studios, his main future seems to be at Warner Bros. As for the world of superheroes, Suicide Squad, the spin-off seems to be going very fast.

Suicide Squad Spin-off to fruition. The latest episode of James Gunn’s Peacemaker series debuted this week, followed by an announcement that John Cena’s anti-hero will be a second appearance as soon as the director has wanted it. But there is another project that Gunn has been working on for some time, which now lurks in the shadows and will bring a second. We still don’t know exactly which Suicide Squad characters will be involved in this new adventure. Gunn revealed that it shouldn’t be that long before everything is revealed. Speak with Variety, the director said :

Yeah, that’s advanced a lot. Hopefully, in not too long, people will know more about that. It’s not 100%. But we’ve been working heavily on it. So that would be something that would happen in addition to “Peacemaker” Season 2.

James Gunn has previously stated that he feels much more freedom working on DC’s R-rated content than Marvel, who currently have a strict PG-13 rating for their most notable projects and the MCU. For this reason, it seems that Gunn will not just stay at DC for a while but will focus on small screen work for at least the following year. Here’s what he said:

Yeah, I think I’ve pretty much decided that after I’m done with Guardians, I’m going to do television for at least a year. I’ve already decided that. Not every show we do is one that I’m going to write and direct, so some of them may take a different amount of my time. I’m going to write Peacemaker, I’m going to direct it, and I’m going to spend all my time on the set. But other shows I might not write and direct, or I might not direct all the episodes.”

It’s clear that James Gunn is in his element now, and it shows in his work: Peacemaker has received great reviews, as did Suicide Squad last year. It seems Warner Bros. is more than happy to allow Gunn to do pretty much whatever he wants, and as it seems that’s what the fans want, he may stay longer than planned.
