Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Showcases RPG Elements In A New Trailer [VIDEO]

Although we’ll have pre-developed vampire characters in Swansong, the creators allow us to explore different play styles.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong promises to be an exciting title for all fans of the supernatural world; the repeated delays have not gone unnoticed by fans. Despite this, Big Bad Wolf and Nacon Games continue to give us a reason to keep an eye out for new developments and have released a new trailer showing off the game’s RPG mechanics.

While the creators put you in control of three predefined vampires (Galeb, Leysha and Emem), skill trees will help you tailor their vampire powers to your play style.

In this way, we will be able to develop techniques and traits that will not once make our adventure easier. However, we will also be able to discover the different virtues that come from the Disciplines: each character’s unique abilities.

This will allow us to progress through extra mechanics in Swansong, such as the ability to see the future or to hide objects from others’ views. In addition, vampires will also have traits and talents that will manifest as positive or negative effects influenced by successes or failures at crucial moments in the adventure. This brings us to the Confrontations, the dialogues in which we will have to choose the variation that opens up the most possibilities in our investigation.

All of these mechanics will help us to create a vampire to suit every player’s style, provided that the player is able to control their heroes. Because if Galeb, Leysha or Emem don’t consume enough blood, their growing hunger can cause them to spiral out of control. In this way, the developers of Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong invite us into a supernatural world that, as a gameplay trailer has shown, is more dangerous than it seems.
