Filming Of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Has Finished

MOVIE NEWS – Social media posts from crew members suggest that after a long delay, filming of Black Panther 2 has indeed been completed.

It looks like the long-delayed filming of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has finally been completed in Puerto Rico, which will probably come as a relief to all those who were involved in the work. While some Marvel films due for release in 2023 have either finished or are close to completion, the sequel to Black Panther has been plagued by a series of problems that have caused lengthy delays, partly due to the film’s release date being pushed back as part of Disney’s schedule shake-up last year.

According to the film’s crew, filming – which, according to a post by hairdresser Nikki Wright, ended up taking 117 days instead of the planned 88 – has finally been completed.

As it turns out, the rewrite of the script after the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman was the least of the film’s problems, as the strict Covid protocols in place when filming began meant that shooting had to be halted several times when crew members tested positive for Covid. However, these delays were relatively short compared to Letitia Wright’s multiple injuries while performing a stunt. Although filming was allowed to resume for a short period, it was announced late last year that things would be halted to allow Wright to recover from her injuries fully.

Since work resumed, however, it has not taken long to complete principal photography on the film, which is expected to feature Namor, the arrival of the submarine and the war between Wakanda and Atlantis, although there is currently very little confirmed information about the plot of the film. What we do know is that Winston Drake will have an expanded role as M’Bakuk, and much of the cast of the original Black Panther will return for the sequel.

There are still a lot of questions about how the film will handle the departure of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa from the story and whether Shuri will be the one to take over the lead role in the franchise, but with other characters such as Riri Williams/Ironheart expected to be cast in the film, there are still a lot of secrets to be revealed about Black Panther before the film arrives on November 11, 2022.
