The Golden Raspberries is a parody of the Oscars, founded by Mo Murphy and John Wilson. It is often questioned whether the awards are fun and serve the original aim to help actors “own their mistakes”, or they’re just simply mean and unnecessary.

If someone’s medical condition is a factor in their decision making and/or their performance, we acknowledge that it is not appropriate to give them a Razzie.”

Eventually, the founders of the award decided to rescind Willis’ nomination. They also expressed that they feel bad for Shelley Duvall’s Golden Raspberry because they didn’t consider that Kubrick didn’t treat her so well during the making of Shining.
