Ace Combat developer Project Aces uses this content to promote Top Gun: Maverick, due for release in May.
When it comes to aerial combat and aerial spectacle, you can’t help but think of the popular Ace Combat saga, the seventh instalment of which has proved a real sales success thanks to a strategy that keeps the community’s attention through frequent updates. However, the Top Gun franchise (now) holds this pre-eminent position in the movie world, so it was only a matter of time before the two met.
The Top Gun-focused Ace Combat 7 DLC will be released sometime in the spring
Now it looks like the two brands are meeting in the sky with an unprecedented collaboration. As reported by Gematsu, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has teamed up with Top Gun to create a DLC, more details of which will be revealed later. Following that line, Project Aces invites us to stay tuned to their social network to learn about the features of the expansion.
Although we don’t have much information about this DLC, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown developers are already giving us a taste of the release window. Top Gun: Maverick hits theatres on May 27, with the game’s add-on due out sometime in the spring. Presumably, they’ll try to time the two products to coincide so that we get the flying experience in both the cinema and the video game simultaneously.
If you’re interested in aerial combat and are not yet familiar with the specifics of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, we recommend you read our review (link above). Ultimately, it’s a title that owes its success and enduring popularity to its fast-paced action and exquisite design.
