Was The Russian Version Of Gotham Knights Cancelled?!

If the latest rumours are to be believed, the Russian language options will be removed from the rest of Gotham Knights.

According to sources who spoke to The Happy Warrior, Warner Bros. has decided to withdraw Gotham Knights from sale in Russian territories. The game, which would have featured Russian subtitles and dubbed Russian voices, will no longer include this language support, even in other versions of the game.

The Russian version of the Gotham Knights site, which can still be viewed at archive.org, now displays a 404 error when accessed.

If the Russian version has indeed been suspended, this will make Warner Bros the latest game company to withdraw a title from sale in Russian territories following the war in Ukraine.

It was announced earlier this month that Gotham Knights would no longer be released for PS4 and Xbox One.

“Please note, to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles”, Warner Bros. said in a statement.

Gotham Knights is being developed by WB Games Montreal, led by creative director Patrick Redding, who previously directed the Splinter Cell titles Conviction and Blacklist.

Initially scheduled for release last year, the game was postponed.

The reason was to provide the developers with “more time to deliver the best possible experience for players”.

Gotham Knights can also be played as a cooperative game, and despite an update on the game’s PSN page stating that the game can support up to four players, it appears that only two players can play it for now.

Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood are also available, but it’s unclear whether certain characters are required for specific missions.
