FromSoftware Is Already Working On Several New Projects

After Elden Ring, they have at least two games in the works, and one of them is nearing the end of development!

4Gamer, a Japanese publication, has interviewed Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring’s director and FromSoftware’s president. Miyazaki has already talked about an unannounced game in an interview he gave in 2018. That title will be the next from the studio. “When we interviewed you about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in 2018, you said there were 3.5 development lines underway, two of them unannounced. Elden Ring ended up one of the unannounced titles, but is the other one still in development?” the site asked, to which Miyazaki replied, “Yes, development is currently in the final stages.”

4Gamer asked, “What are your goals as a director? With Elden Ring wrapped up, is there anything you want to do in the future or are interested in doing?” He answered: “I’m already working on my next title as a director, so I’d like to avoid giving too much away there… In the mid-to-long term, I would like to work on a more abstract fantasy than anything we’ve done in the past.”

And the last relevant question-answer pair: “Finally, with Elden Ring settled, what is the state of FromSoftware’s game development going forward? First off, we’re going to continue releasing updates for Elden Ring. Also, as I’ve mentioned before, we’re developing several titles by directors other than myself in addition to the title that I’m directing. Still, we’re not yet at the stage where I can share any details. My apologies, but please give us a little more time.”

Back in January (presumably via a consumer survey), some images and a description of Armored Core 6 surfaced. There’s a good chance that it will be the studio’s next game, so the mech battles could continue (Armored Core is one of the studio’s franchises, so it was somewhat expected that they’d return to that in time). They’re officially looking for people for several new projects, and you can apply for jobs here. (Of course, you’d have to speak Japanese and live there…)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
