PlayStation Plus Essential: The July Games Leaked…

There’s not much point in putting a question mark in the title now, as we’ve heard the list from a source that’s proven to be reliable during 2022…

It was once again billbil-kun from France’s Dealabs. They revealed days before the official announcement what games will be available to all subscribers of PlayStation Plus, which has been switched to the new three-tier subscription model worldwide. Still, we call it the Essential tier, as it is essentially a continuation of the original PS Plus.

July’s big title will be Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, developed by Toys For Bob and published by Activision Blizzard for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The new game from the box-breaking marsupial has proved to be a success (although the studio’s medicine has worn off a little when it comes to the diamonds: perfectionists need to prepare for around 55-60 hours of gameplay…), and the studio could now be working on a multiplayer Crash project, although officially, they’re supposed to be helping Raven Software develop Call of Duty: Warzone (we wrote about these topics before).

The second game will be Arcadegeddon for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. As usual, there will be a PlayStation 4-only game: it is The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan from Supermassive Games. This game is a bit tricky, though, because it’s already in the catalogue for PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscribers! Typical Sony, isn’t it?

If it’s all official (and why wouldn’t it be?), the three games will be available from the fifth of July and will be available to PlayStation Plus (Essential) subscribers until the second of August. However, the switch has now been made in each region, so when Sony makes the official announcement on Wednesday, we expect them to announce which PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 games (PS Plus Extra) and which PS1/PS2/PSP titles (PS Plus Premium) will be added to the catalogue, not to mention the PS3 titles that will run in the cloud (also Premium).

However, we’ll highlight that these three games are subject to confirmation.
