New Look For Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Cal Kestis Hints At New Game Modes

The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor figures which were spotted at the San Diego Comic-Con, may reveal interesting details about Cal Kestis in the sequel.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor debuted a few months ago with a cinematic trailer that hinted at the story’s development and introduced a mysterious Bacta tank but left many questions about gameplay. Fans still don’t know what Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will bring in terms of gameplay, but the Cal Kestis figure spotted at San Diego Comic-Con may reveal some interesting details.

Hasbro has unveiled some new figures based on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and of particular interest to fans is the figure of Cal Kestis. Those who take a close look at the Cal Kestis figure will see that he now appears to be sporting a short beard, which gives him an older look compared to how he appeared in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A more important detail, however, may be the blaster Kestis wears on his hip.

In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis’ combat was limited to using lightsabers and the Force. However, the figure of Cal Kestis, based on his appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, shows him equipped with a blaster. While this may be nonsensical, it appears that Kestis will have a blaster at his disposal in the new game, which could add an exciting new layer to the combat.

Other figures include Cal Kestis’ trusty BD-1, a B-1 battle droid and a KX security droid. Cal will presumably have to fight these droids at some point in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, though fans will have to wait to learn more about the game to know for sure. As previously mentioned, no gameplay has been revealed yet, and it’s unclear exactly when the game will be properly unveiled.

Rumours suggest that the release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be sometime in March 2023. If this rumour turns out to be accurate, one would imagine that more information about the game will be coming sooner rather than later, so fans can learn more about Cal’s new look and blaster.

But it’s also possible that the rumour about the release date is completely wrong and that fans won’t find out more about the game until much later. As for entertainment events this year, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has the best chance of showing up at D23 in September or The Game Awards in December, but it hasn’t been confirmed for either yet.
