The Last Of Us Tabletop Game Is In The Making At Naughty Dog, And It Looks Cool!

The Last of Us board game’s community funding campaign launches on November 8 on Kickstarter.

Yes, the popular video game series is getting its own board game adaptation. Naughty Dog has announced that they are partnering with Themeborne, the creators of the Escape the Dark series, to create a board game called The Last of Us: Escape the Dark.

Escape the Dark is a cooperative board game series consisting of black-and-white illustrated chapter cards that players solve together.

In Themeborne, 1 to 5 players take control of Ellie, Joel, Tess, Bill, Tommy or Marlene. They will all explore an open-world map in an attempt to reach safety.

The gameplay features locations familiar from the original game. You can see the suburbs, the canals and the university. You will face a combination of human and infected enemies. Below is a picture of the complete set, complete with illustrated cards.

The Kickstarter campaign for the board game will launch on November 8. Naughty Dog says fans will be able to get a closer look at the game. Once the campaign launches, they’ll have a chance to secure a collector’s edition.

The Last of Us: Escape the Dark is the latest in a series of reveals for fans of the game series.

Naughty Dog released a remake of the original game earlier this year in the form of The Last of Us Part I. The HBO series is apparently coming in January. Then there’s the related multiplayer project that got a teaser last summer.
