Kratos, The Joker?! Christopher Judge Promotes Ragnarök With Funny Videos

Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge has shared a video full of dad jokes as he continues the countdown to the release of God of War: Ragnarök.

Christopher Judge, the voice actor for God of War: Ragnarök, is helping to build excitement for the upcoming “dad” sequel by sharing jokes in the voice of Kratos on Twitter. The game will be released on November 9, less than two days away. It’s one of the biggest game announcements of 2022. But even a heavily-printed PlayStation exclusive could do with an extra push at the finish line. Judge took the opportunity to celebrate the release of God of War: Ragnarök with a bit of humour.

Four years ago, Polygon teamed up with Judge to do something special. Judge was the new voice of God of War, which was already an incredible success.

As serious as the game’s story and Kratos himself were, the fanbase loved to poke fun at the fact that Kratos was an awkward dad.

As a result, Polygon had Judge read several dad jokes in a solemn voice. The sketch was incredibly successful and currently stands at 13 million views. It seems to have left its mark on Judge himself.

Judge has been making videos of himself telling dad jokes in his Kratos voice for the past few days. Meanwhile, he’s been capturing images of God of War. On the first day, we saw a Kratos action figure and a plush one on the second day. Yesterday’s video showed a Kratos POP figure. Each video is marked with how many days until the release of Ragnarök, which hopefully means Judge will continue to make dad jokes until the moment of release.

Although by now, the whole initiative is getting a bit memey, that probably won’t put anyone off.

What’s particularly impressive about Judge’s performance is that he knows exactly what fate awaits his character and Atreus in God of War: Ragnarök. As God of War players know, both Kratos and Atreus learned something very serious about themselves at the end of the first game. Once the new game is released, players may have to return to these dad jokes for a bit of fun.
