Wolverine Is Dead – Or Is He?! Hugh Jackman Has Spoken Out [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Jackman says they’ve figured out how to get Wolverine back without disrupting the Logan timeline.

Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the next Deadpool movie, teaming up with Ryan Reynolds’ character. But exactly how that will happen is yet to be seen. Jackman’s character died at the end of 2017’s Logan. Jackman revealed on the Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM that Wolverine will appear in Deadpool 3 through a different timeline in which he is still alive.

“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines,” Jackman said. “Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science [flashes airquotes]. So, I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.”

Jackman said he was “100% sure” he was done playing Wolverine after Logan. However, after watching Deadpool 2, he felt an irresistible urge to return and try out the character in a different story with a different tone.

Reynolds and Jackman have been playing out a fictional feud for years with some ridiculous videos. It will be nice to see them together in a movie, especially since it’s Deadpool 3.

The fact that Deadpool 3 won’t mess with Logan’s timeline is nothing new. Reynolds and Jackman confirmed in a video in September that Logan, set in 2029, is a “totally separate thing.” He is dead and he’s going to stay dead. “Logan died in Logan; not touching that,” Reynolds said. The pair also revealed the plot of Deadpool 3, but what they said was drowned out by Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”.

James Mangold, who was the director of Logan, said on Twitter that he has no problem with Deadpool 3 continuing the story of Wolverine despite the character’s death.

“Oh my gosh! Everybody chill. Logan will always be there. Multiverse or prequel, time warp or worm hole, canon or non-canon or even without a rationale, I cannot wait to see what madness my dear friends cook up!”

Deadpool 3 will hit theatres in November 2024, with filming expected to begin in March 2023. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, who also directed episodes of Stranger Things and Free Guy.
