Surprisingly, a new game is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service, while teasers are being released about the potential addition of two more games.

 

 

While Microsoft hasn’t officially announced the first wave of Xbox Game Pass games for January 2023 (as of now), Stranded Deep is already available for claim. In addition, we’ve also heard of the potential addition of two more games.

As anyone who follows the service will know, Microsoft is sometimes “late” with these announcements.

According to the Xbox app, five games will be leaving the service on January 15, even though no official announcement has yet been made.

Stranded Deep is a clever little survival game. The title, already popular in early access, puts us in a critical situation. The player must survive as the survivor of a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean. We must endure through the mechanics of managing hunger, health and other parameters in an endless, procedurally generated open world.

But the other two games found themselves in murkier waters. As noted by Twitter user MaurinoNL and first reported by True Achievements, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection currently has a “Get Game Pass” button when you check out the store. Plus, an unusual Xbox Game Pass discount. Meanwhile, tactical RPG The DioField Chronicle’s store page counts down to the post-Game Pass date. According to MaurinoNL, this usually indicates an addition to the service.

Of course, fans will have to wait and see what the official announcement says when it happens. Stranded Deep is obviously a clean slate, but there’s still a lot of ambiguity surrounding the other two games.

These three titles could be coming to the service soon. But if all is true, in the second half of January 2023, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can claim and play Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Gold, Monster Hunter Rise, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Inkulinati.
