The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR: Game Comes With Big Pre-Order Bonuses!

Developer Supermassive Games has shared what players will get when pre-ordering the upcoming horror shooter The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR.

Developer Supermassive Games has revealed what exclusive in-game items players would receive when they pre-order the upcoming The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. The horror VR rail shooter will be released on March 16 as a PS VR2 exclusive.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is a first-person rail shooter rather than an interactive drama like previous games; as such, it is not a successor to the 2016 PS4 VR game Until Dawn: Blood Rush.

Supermassive Games is calling the pre-order content for The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR the Inferno Pack. It includes two exclusive weapon skins in the form of the Special Edition Gold Gun and the Premium Demon Gun. The former is gold-plated with a flame on the front of the barrel. Switchback VR’s Demon Gun has a similar design, but it’s white with more creepy eyes looking out of it. The Inferno Pack also includes the premium Skull and Bones cart. Players can decorate this with an exclusive floating Skull Bobble Head. Fans of The Dark Pictures can pre-order the game now for $39.99.

Like Until Dawn: Blood Rush, the new game takes the term rail shooter unusually literally. It takes place on a supernatural rollercoaster. Supermassive’s VR shooter draws on threats from the first season of The Dark Pictures anthology. Players will face off against the undead marines of Man of Medan, the demonic ghosts of Little Hope, the ancient alien vampires of House of Ashes and the sadistic serial killer of The Devil in Me. Each map features multiple routes, ensuring that no two rides are identical. Plus, it’s still essentially a Dark Pictures game, which means it will have different endings based on player choice.

As a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Dark Pictures: Switchback VR also means that you can take advantage of unique features on PlayStation VR2.

This is because the game uses the PS VR2’s eye-tracking feature to adjust enemy behaviour. It also takes advantage of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback from the controllers and headset. Players will be able to experience the wild ride for themselves when The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is released in a month’s time.
