The Last Of Us Part 1 PC: These Are The Minimum And Recommended System Requirements!

Developer Naughty Dog has revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for the upcoming port of The Last of Us Part 1, which includes some surprising requirements.

Sony has revealed the minimum and recommended PC specifications for the upcoming release of The Last of Us Part 1. The PC release date was announced late last year. Not long to go now to get your hands on Naughty Dog’s iconic title, as it arrives on March 28.

The Last of Us Part 1 was a huge success when it was released in 2013 and was instantly considered a classic upon its release.

Its popularity has soared more recently, and the success of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series has given the game a massive boost in sales.

As Sony has so far tied the series to PlayStation consoles, there are plenty of gamers still to experience Joel and Ellie’s story. If the game succeeds, it could pave the way for The Last of Us Part 2 to possibly make its way to PC.

PC specs have been posted on the official PlayStation blog. Some of the results may surprise gamers. Perhaps the standout is the RTX 4080 card, which is needed to play the game smoothly at ultra settings. Considering the game’s original release was in 2013, the requirements are definitely higher than some at the top end were expecting. However, the game seems to scale very well at the lower end. For example, the GTX 970 graphics card was first released in 2014, and the game seems to be playable with that card. So players don’t necessarily need a nuclear power plant to run the game acceptably well.

Ultimately, the game’s success on PC will depend on the quality of the PC port. The quality and excellence of the game are well known. But there have been some wonderful games with lousy PC ports. This can make a game unplayable if it’s bad enough.

However, the fact that Naughty Dog delayed the game in February to polish it up suggests that the developer is committed to making The Last of Us Part 1 port the best it can be.

With a second season of The Last of Us already confirmed, the franchise is here to stay for quite some time. Gamers are hoping that the breakthrough success of the TV series will lead to a possible Last of Us Part 3, though Naughty Dog has yet to confirm anything officially.

The minimum and recommended PC specs are as follows:

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X / Intel Core i7-4770K
