Rings Of Power: Behind The Scenes Photos Reveal Season 2 Plot Points?!

MOVIE NEWS – Leaked filming photos from the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power reveal locations of a legendary elf from the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is expected to arrive in 2024, but the series has been in the filming phase for some time. Now new leaked images from the set have emerged. They feature one of the mythical Elven figures from J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe: the legendary Feanor.

The season 1 finale of The Rings of Power concluded with no small amount of plot revelations, namely Sauron’s true identity in the series after he went into hiding as Galadriel’s ally Halbrand; some impending turmoil in Numenor; the first sight of Mordor; and the making of the rings for which the series is named.

Even though Warner Bros. Discovery is looking to get back into the fray with its own Lord of the Rings movies in the future, Amazon’s showrunners seem ready to tap into more of The Silmarillion.

According to images captured by a drone and then shared on Twitter by a LOTR fan account (@FellowshipFans), it appears that a statue of Feanor is part of one of the sets for The Rings of Power Season 2. The photos show what appears to be yet another Elven city, this time paying homage to Feanor, the creator of the Silmarils and the Tengwar script. Feanor is easily recognisable from the scaled-up image of the statue, which reveals the craftsman’s distinctive hammer, referenced by some fans on the internet. Also, the three carved gems on the floor of the town square are an unmistakable reference to the Silmarils, Feanor’s jewellery.

However, it is questionable how Amazon could use the Silmarils in The Rings of Power since the series is primarily based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, and they do not have the rights to The Silmarillion.

The third part of this work, ‘Quenta Silmarillion’, focuses on much of the wars over the Silmarils. However, at least for now, Feanor’s inclusion in The Rings of Power – other than a cleverly placed easter egg statue – seems a bit far-fetched. Especially considering the legal issues surrounding the rights and licensing of the novel. The Rings of Power already faced stiff competition last year from HBO’s House of the Dragon series, and with Warner Bros. planning its own Lord of the Rings projects, Amazon will need all the help it can get from the legendary elves.
