What Happened to Grogu During the Star Wars Sequels? The Mandalorian Creator Revealed It!

MOVIE NEWS – The creator of The Mandalorian series, Dave Filoni, finally discussed how Grogu’s story continues in the Star Wars sequels. The fate of the little green creature interests many fans, as his species can live for more than 900 years.

Grogu, or as many know him, Baby Yoda, is the biggest favorite of The Mandalorian series. The little green creature has strong Force abilities and became Luke Skywalker’s apprentice at the end of the series. But what happened to him during the Star Wars sequels, when Rey and Kylo Ren fought for the fate of the Force?

Dave Filoni, the creator of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his plans for the Star Wars universe, and one topic that came up was Grogu’s situation during the sequels.

“That’s a great question, and we discuss many different things” – he answered. “This applies not only to Grogu, but to many other characters as well. Where are they during these events? If anything, I learned from The Clone Wars that I wove between two movies that there is plenty of room in this galaxy to tell stories and move characters.”

This doesn’t seem like a definite answer, but Filoni was talking about more than the variety of Star Wars series.

“As a kid, when Yoda said to Luke: ‘When I’m gone, you’ll be the last of the Jedi,’ I took that very literally” – he continued. “Well, now we know that’s far from true. Many different people can use the Force, and maybe Luke is the last Jedi from the point of view of how Yoda sees a Jedi. So we’ll see how the story evolves and what makes sense. But in my experience, there is definitely a way to weave everything together and make it exciting. It may never even have to overlap with what we saw [in the sequels] if the story takes place elsewhere.”

Filoni seems to see the connected Star Wars universe differently than some fans. While many would like to see every Star Wars element somehow connect to each other, he sees how huge and diverse stories can be told.
