Contrary to previous speculations, the film was not shot in the city of love, Paris, but in and around Athens, as it is again a Greek wedding.

Among the producers of the film, as in the previous two occasions, there is also Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson of Greek origin. At that time, the Hanks saw the great potential in Nia Vardalos’s one-man stage play and paved the way for it to be screened. Mrs. Hanks also appeared in the previous episode. Vardalos was nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay of the first film.
