Succubus: Hellish Orgy VR: Banned From Steam!

Valve has essentially said no to hellish orgies… in virtual reality, as the base version of the game (which doesn’t require a VR headset) will remain available on Steam.

Madmind Studio’s first game, Agony, was already pretty close to NSFW (and the studio crossed that line with the help of an Unrated patch), but the second, Succubus, went further. Suffice it to say that it’s a sexually charged game where you have to f… spend your time nicely through hell by controlling a succubus, a female demon. (And the joke is that it’s no joke…)

Madmind censored the base edition of the game, as the… adult content was blurred out of the screen, and there wasn’t much action. However, like Agony, Succubus also got an Unrated DLC (link is only recommended to open at your risk), which Valve didn’t act on immediately, even though they could have done so for the content. Here’s what the update brings: healing mini-games (abortions, genital mutilation), interactive sex mini-games, additional sex scenes in the form of cutscenes, additional sex scenes depicting demons and humans visible in the game’s levels, no censorship on the character’s breasts and genitals, and an additional “hellish orgy” orgy scene.

From it, you can guess that Succubus: Hellish Orgy VR was the uncensored version of the game, just adapted for VR. However, that was too much for Gabe Newell (although they could look at the adult content games popping up on Steam). Hence, the Madmind Studio statement was pretty brief about what happened: “Steam has decided to ban the game without allowing us to make changes, patches, or censor it.”

The studio isn’t taking any action on the matter because Agony VR has just been released on Steam (and Agony: Lords of Hell, the sequel, is on Kickstarter), so it’s hoping it won’t disappear from the platform in a matter of moments…
