Super Mario Bros: The Movie brought in a sensational income

MOVIE NEWS – Super Mario Bros: The Movie, based on Nintendo’s most famous and most popular game, set a world record.

In the long summer of Easter, it achieved a total revenue of 377 million dollars in five days, making it a world record in the history of animated films. With the performance of the production, it took first place ahead of the previous No. 1, Frozen 2. (2019), which held the top spot in the category with 358 million.

Super Mario Bros: The Movie could easily become the top-grossing movie production of 2023, according to industry analyst David A Gross.

On the criticism portal RottenTomatoes, the audience rates the film at 96 percent, compared to 56 percent of critics. This even outraged the eccentric multi-billionaire Elon Musk, who commented on the judges’ opinion on Twitter: “the critics are so out of touch with reality!”.

“Audiences don’t seem to care about tepid reviews,” stated the obvious, Pamela McClintock of the Hollywood Reporter.

Renowned trade magazines such as Comscore, Variety and Screen Daily point out that there has never been a film whose performance has exceeded expectations to such a large extent.

And The New York Times asks the rhetorical question and immediately answers it: “So are family cinemas back, and to such an extent that the studios can definitely count on them again?” Studio bosses and cinema operators threw up gypsy wheels as one person over the weekend and shouted in chorus: yes!”.
