A Marvel Cinematic Universe Production Has Been Completely Shut Down Due to the Writers’ Strike!

MOVIE NEWS – The Hollywood screenwriters’ strike is having a serious impact on the film industry. One of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated films, Blade, has also fallen victim to the work stoppage: production has been suspended indefinitely.

Blade is an action film about a vampire hunter, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The lead role is played by Mahershala Ali, who has already won two Oscars. The film is directed by Yann Demange and written by Nic Pizzolatto.

The film was supposed to start shooting in June in Atlanta, but this was postponed due to the writers’ strike that broke out this week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, work will not resume until the strike ends. This means that the film’s release date may also slip, which was planned for September 6, 2024 in the United States.

The writers’ strike was announced by the WGA (Writers Guild of America) members due to low wages and poor working conditions. The strike has slowed down or stopped several TV shows and series, such as The Lord of the Rings second season or the Marvel series Wonder Man.

Blade was not a smooth project anyway: it previously went through director and screenwriter changes, and its release date changed several times. We hope that the writers’ strike will end soon and the film can be completed.
