An Insomniac executive says he wants to make Spider-Man 2 the “best game” the studio has ever made.

 

 

Insomniac Games narrative director Jon Paquette says he aims to make Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 the best game the development team has ever made. The next instalment in the series was first announced for 2021. The game will focus on Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up against a team of enemies. It also anticipates the arrival of iconic villains such as Kraven the Hunter and Venom. But despite the announcement two years ago, we haven’t seen much of the game yet.

Small steps have been taken to promote the game, such as a teaser video as part of a general PS5 launch and a prequel comic for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which was released for Free Comic Book Day last week and highlights the events of the sequel.

The developer has steadfastly assured fans that the game will be released sometime this year. Some have expressed concern about the lack of updates to the game. Despite the lack of information, the staff behind the sequel sent a very positive message to fans waiting for the game. A recent statement by the narrative director indicates this.

During a recent stream on Insomniac Games’ official Twitch channel, Paquette stated that the studio had worked very hard to make Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 the best game the team has ever made. During the segment, he said that he was very excited about the game. Although he couldn’t talk about much right away, he can’t wait to share with fans what the company has developed.

This statement must be incredibly encouraging. Insomniac Games’ recent releases have been very well received.

This includes, for example, Sunset Overdrive, as well as the previous Spider-Man games and the PS5-exclusive Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart from 2021.

Information about Spider-Man 2 has been kept pretty hush-hush until now. Leaks and rumours have also been stirring things up, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly what will be in the game. In addition to Spider-Man 2, the studio is also developing a Wolverine-focused game. This has also only received a short teaser trailer so far.
