House Of The Dragon Season 2: Revealing New Set Photo Leaked!

MOVIE NEWS – The set photo for season 2 of House of the Dragon seems to hint at some pretty serious spoilers for the season’s storyline (WARNING! Spoiler alert!)

The set photo for House of the Dragon season 2 appears to show a dragon head being carried through King’s Landing on a wagon. Filming began on the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series, based on George R. R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood, in early April.

As filming continues on season 2 of House of the Dragon, a slew of shooting photos have started to pop up online.

One, shared by u/Outside_Slide_3218 on Reddit, shows a blue foam model pierced with iron bolts being driven through King’s Landing. This will probably be digitally replaced with a dragon head during post-production (see the link below for the image!)

Based on the events depicted in Fire and Blood, which House of the Dragon has so far faithfully adapted, it is more than likely that Meleys’ head will be carted through King’s Landing in Season 2. Meleys is the dragon that Princess Rhaenys Targaryen rode during the Dance of the Dragons.

What happens to Meleys in House of the Dragon season 2?

If the series faithfully follows the Fire and Blood series, Meleys will end badly in season 2. When Rook’s Rest, the seat of House Staunton, is besieged by Ser Criston Cole’s army, Rhaenys rides his dragon into the castle to lend a hand. Meleys is greeted by a shower of iron shells, along with Vhagar of Prince Aemond and Sunfyre of King Aegon II, who await battle in the skies.

One against two, Meleys stands no chance: his body is torn to shreds as he falls to his death, though his head is recovered and transported back to King’s Landing.

It is always sad to see one of the magnificent beasts killed. But this moment would improve one of the most controversial scenes of Season 1 of House of the Dragon. In episode 9, Rhaenys bursts into the Great Hall on the back of Meleys during the coronation of King Aegon II. Meanwhile, he kills hundreds of innocent bystanders. The citizens rightly celebrate as the dragon’s head that slaughtered them is paraded through the city. If Season 2 executes the scene of the Battle at Rook’s Rest well, it could be one of the season’s highlights.
