The Out-Laws: Pierce Brosnan Gets To Play James Bond Again (Almost) – Watch The Trailer! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Pierce Brosnan sneaks a cheeky James Bond reference into the trailer for The Out-Laws, Netflix’s upcoming action-packed bank heist romantic comedy.

Pierce Brosnan can’t get away from James Bond. At least that’s what the trailer for the new bank heist comedy The Out-laws suggests. The British actor rose to fame in the 1980s with NBC’s detective comedy Remington Steele. He went on to international fame as Timothy Dalton’s successor in the James Bond franchise. Brosnan had four successful parts in the spy action film series.

Workaholics and Pitch Perfect star Adam Devine leads the trailer for Netflix’s The Out-Laws as suave bank manager Owen Browning.

And Brosnan and Ellen Barkin play the would-be parents-in-law Billy and Lily McDermott, a married couple who lead double lives as notorious international bank robbers.

After an awkward introduction and a few too many drinks, Owen inadvertently gives the criminal couple the password to a vault containing millions of dollars. Packed with comedy, action and a sly James Bond reference that is distinctly reminiscent of Brosnan’s time in the service, the trailer sets the audience up for a thrilling thrill ride.

What can we expect from The Out-Laws?

The film’s trailer at first hints at a premise in which a goofy but lovable character tries to charm his romantic partner’s parents (“in-laws”, hence the film’s “witty” title, haha…) But Evan Turner and Ben Zazove’s script turns that idea on its head. The romantic comedy is set amid bank robberies and international criminal conspiracies.

The Out-Laws, directed by Tyler Spindel, stars Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev as Parker McDermott, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Yondu, Michael Rooker as Agent Oldham, and Julie Hagerty and Richard Kind as Owen’s parents Margie and Neil Browning. Devine’s Workaholics colleague Blake Anderson appears as cousin RJ. Get Out star Lil Rel Howery will play Owen’s security colleague Tyree.

Although the trailer for The Out-Laws gives away much of the plot, there is plenty of room for twists and turns in the film, as Owen goes from bank manager to bank robber.

Parker’s role in the film remains in question, given her parents’ criminal past. Did she not choose Owen as her romantic partner so that her parents could gain access to the vault? Viewers will get their questions answered when The Out-Laws premieres on Netflix on July 7.
