Xbox Game Pass: Two New Games in the Service, But There Is Also Bad News!

Microsoft has enriched the Ultimate category of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service with two new games: Need for Speed Unbound and The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales are now available to users. Xbox Game Pass is available in several versions, but subscribers in the Ultimate category can get the most out of the subscription.

Microsoft has updated the list of games available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allowing subscribers to try out Need for Speed Unbound and The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales, due out later today. There are several versions of Xbox Game Pass available to potential subscribers, but they get the most bang for their buck by opting for Game Pass Ultimate.

However, long-term subscribers may be disappointed that both the basic Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate will be more expensive in the near future. Microsoft recently announced a price increase for Game Pass, within which the price of the basic Game Pass will increase from $9.99 to $10.99, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $14.99 to $15.99. The good news, though, is that the Game Pass price hikes aren’t huge, and Microsoft needs to keep adding new games if it wants to keep its subscribers and attract new ones.

From June 22, those who have chosen the package of the Game Pass Ultimate service can try two new games. Need for Speed Unbound was listed using EA Play. One of the benefits of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is that it includes EA Play’s game library, so Need for Speed Unbound is not available to those who have chosen regular Game Pass. Another game added to Game Pass with the latest update is The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales, which is available to all Game Pass subscribers.

Need for Speed Unbound is a big budget game from a AAA studio that is a major addition to the service. However, The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales is perhaps even more impressive. The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales is a Game Pass game released within a day, available to more Game Pass subscribers than Need for Speed Unbound.

It’s worth mentioning that while the majority of Need for Speed Unbound reviews were positive, there were some who weren’t thrilled with the latest entry in EA’s long-distance racing game. The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales hasn’t received many professional reviews yet, but the ones that have come out so far have been very positive. Time will tell how opinions stack up against Need for Speed Unbound, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers don’t have to choose between them.
