A Tragic Twist In A Relationship Formed In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

Their lawyer ended the relationship between a Muslim woman and a Hindu man…

A Pakistani woman and an Indian man met and fell in love in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but now they will spend a long time behind bars in India, where they have been arrested. According to the New York Times, the cuffs were snapped two months after they started living in secret in Greater Noida. The woman (Seema Ghulam Haider) is in jail for entering the country illegally, and the man (Sachin Meena) for harboring a fugitive.

Haider and Meena first ran into each other in the battle royale game in 2019, after Haider’s husband moved to Saudi Arabia for work. Over time, they started chatting on social media and the phone. According to Meena’s uncle Birbal Meena, Sachin stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning talking to someone on the phone. Then he confessed that he had fallen in love with a Pakistani woman he wanted to marry, but Meena’s family did not support this because she was from an enemy country. The couple met in Nepal in March, where they spent a week, returned home, and met again in May. Haider took her four children with her, but from there, they went to India together, and the couple lived with the children not far from New Delhi.

It seems that they were busted because they wanted to do everything legally. According to the Times of India, they went to a lawyer to get Haider to stay in India and also to make their marriage a reality. Still, instead of help, the lawyer called the cops after he found out that Haider was Pakistani: “I was startled when I found out that she and her children (three daughters and a son) were carrying Pakistani passports. She was making inquiries about the process of getting married in India. She said she wanted to marry Sachin. When I learned they were living in a house in Rabupura, I informed the police,” said the lawyer, who had an associate on the couple to find out where they were staying.

Pakistan has been in frequent conflict with India since its creation in 1947, which has taken frequent action against the Muslim population in recent years. According to the Times of India, Uttar Pradesh’s anti-terrorism squad has also assisted police in the arrests. Indian intelligence is investigating… but Meena and Haider did not harm anyone. Meena did not lie about his financial situation (he lost her job at the shop) or make promises to Haider that he could not keep. Haider was not impressed by Meena’s job but by his PUBG skills. According to the BBC, the pair were jailed for fourteen days during the investigation and could face years in prison. Haider’s husband was, according to the woman, abusive, but he still wants his children to return to Pakistan, while the couple has sought the help of the Indian government to marry.

Prison seems a bit harsh as punishment…
