Barbie: Budapest Downtown Glowed in Pink Light

MOVIE NEWS – On the night of July 20, the Budapest Ferris Wheel, a central attraction in the city’s downtown area, was bathed in pink light. The unusual lighting marked the premiere of a movie.

A rather unique event took place in Erzsébet Square, Budapest. One of the most visited tourist destinations, the Ferris Wheel, was illuminated in a pink light between 9 PM and midnight. The Mattel toy company’s Barbie doll has debuted in a new live-action movie, which was the occasion for this event.

This is the first instance where Barbie, the world-renowned toy doll, appears in a live-action movie. The leading roles are played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Kata Török, Mattel’s Hungarian marketing director, stated in the press release: “The film premiere is a major milestone in Barbie’s career, dating back 64 years.” She added that the brand always keeps pace with the times, and the film presentation symbolizes the further evolution of the game.

The new Barbie film presents the adventures of the Barbie and Ken dolls, where the characters step into the real world to experience what true perfection is, and that it is not defined by externals.

The Barbie film is available in Hungarian cinemas from July 20, distributed by InterCom. The special light show arranged for the film’s premiere surprised not only movie-goers but also tourists visiting the city, providing a unique visual experience.
