Shocker: Xbox Game Pass Is About To Lose A Few Huge Games!

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service is dropping four games on August 15, so fans should play them while they still can.

Microsoft has confirmed that four games will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on August 15. Subscribers already know that Microsoft will remove games from Game Pass at the end of the month and on the 15th of each month.

This means that Microsoft recently removed a bunch of games from Xbox Game Pass, with five titles getting the boot as of July 2023.

The good news is that Game Pass subscribers have two weeks to play the games that will be leaving on August 15. So they can prioritise them over other titles if they wish. And, as always, games are available at a 20% discount while on Game Pass. So even if someone starts one of the outgoing games and doesn’t finish it before it’s out, they can at least buy it for less than the regular asking price.

In any case, the four games leaving on August 15 are Death Stranding, Edge of Eternity, Midnight Fight Express and Total War: Warhammer 3. While Edge of Eternity and Midnight Fight Express were initially released for Game Pass on the cloud, consoles and PC, Death Stranding and Total War: Warhammer 3 have always been available only to PC players. PC Game Pass is available as a standalone tier of the service, but for those who subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, it is also available in conjunction with Game Pass for consoles.

Xbox Game Pass games that are coming soon:

  • Death Stranding (PC) – August 15.
  • Edge of Eternity (Cloud/Consoles/PC) – August 15.
  • Midnight Fight Express (Cloud/Consoles/PC) – August 15.
  • Total War: Warhammer 3 (PC) – August 15.

Two weeks should be enough time to play through some of these games. Death Stranding is a relatively lengthy game. But if one plays a sufficient amount each day, one should be able to get to the end before it is taken offline.

Edge of Eternity and Total War: Warhammer 3 have similar play times to Death Stranding, while Midnight Fight Express is quite short, taking just over five hours to complete.

In terms of which games subscribers should prefer, Total War: Warhammer 3 has the best ratings of the range. Edge of Eternity has received mostly negative reviews from critics, while Midnight Fight Express has had a somewhat mixed reception.
