Scorsese named what he thought was De Niro’s best film

MOVIE NEWS – One of today’s greatest film directors, Martin Scorsese, and the acting giant, Robert De Niro, have a legendary working relationship and friendship, they made ten films together. The tenth, Strangled flowers, will be released in autumn.

It can’t be said that ten films together were successful because there was also a huge failure among them. Therefore, it is surprising that, according to Scorsese, it was in this film that De Niro gave the greatest performance of his life. The work in question is the 1982 satirical drama The King of Comedy, in which De Niro plays an untalented but infinitely ambitious comedian who is willing to do anything to succeed. As the director writes in his autobiographical book Scorsese on Scorsese, he was in a very bad mood at the time, and in retrospect he believes that he should not have been involved in the film. The only thing he didn’t regret about making The King of Comedy was the casting of De Niro: Scorsese felt that what he messed up behind the camera, the actor made up for. in front of the camera.

In Strangled Flowers, we will soon see the result of the new collaboration between De Niro and Scorsese. The film, which has already been presented at the Cannes Film Festival, is referred to as an Oscar contender, according to the judges, both the director and the two main actors (De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio) can win the award.

The film, which deals with the events that happened, takes you to the 20s of the last century, to the land of the Osage Indians in Oklahoma. Because of the oil found there, the natives who own the land start to be killed one by one, and it is obvious that the culprits must be found among the whites. By the way, this is Leonardo DiCaprio‘s sixth film that he is making with Scorsese.
