Is A Sequel To Hogwarts Legacy Already In The Works?

Although one insider with more knowledge of the movies tells us that a second Hogwarts Legacy is in development, it is surprising that Warner has decided on it quickly.

MyTimeToShineHello is a reliable leaker, but they are not known in the games industry, but rather for the leaks related to movies. Still, they tweeted that their sources have confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy is in development, so they certainly have connections to Warner, as they have had previously shared details about the studio before they officially surfaced.

It is the first we’ve heard of Hogwarts Legacy 2 (we have no idea what the sequel might be called yet, so we’ll stick with the most apparent option…), but it’s to be expected. The first installment is one of the best-selling games of 2023, making over $1.3 billion. However, Warner isn’t in a hurry to release its games (for example, in Hitman II, it was a bit noticeable that the open areas were too big, but that was probably more the fault of IO Interactive, the game’s developer…), so it’s best to be patient.

David Zaslav, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CEO, said in a statement that the company is committed to developing a “perfect” game, even if it takes more time to create: “We don’t want to put a movie out or a game out unless we think it’s our best work. Even if we do that half the time or 2/3 of the time, it won’t work. But that’s the new cultural philosophy of the company. We’re a storytelling company. The best creatives fight to make our content the best it could be,” Zaslav commented.

So we’ll have to wait three or even four years for Hogwarts Legacy 2, which will not be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (the first game is cross-gen…). The Nintendo Switch port of Hogwarts Legacy has not yet been released; it’s not due until November instead of July 25.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
