Ghost Rider: Will A New Hero Replace The Original In 2024?!

In 2024, a new era for the Spirit of Vengeance begins: Ghost Rider #1 empowers a new hero with Marvel’s ultimate demonic powers.

A new Ghost Rider is coming to Marvel Comics! Because the publisher promises a new era of the Spirit of Vengeance. B.C. The character has been around in Marvel history since the mammoth-riding proto-human hero who lived in 1,000,000, and now a new hero is taking up the mantle.

In a recent press release, Marvel revealed that a new Ghost Rider series, written by Benjamin Percy and Danny Kim, will begin in March 2024.

So far, very little is known. But Marvel did share Juan Ferreyra’s cover and the “Who’s the New Spirit of Vengeance?” sentence.

The title of Ghost Rider is currently held by its most iconic and original wearer, former stuntman Johnny Blaze. However, as Blaze tangles with the Mephistopheles sect, things are about to change. According to Marvel:

“Rev your engines for a new era of GHOST RIDER from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Danny Kim coming in March 2024. Learn more in the coming weeks.”

A new Ghost Rider takes up the mantle

The Spirit of Vengeance is an ancient spirit that embodies the cosmic need to punish evil deeds. He has almost unlimited power to inflict suffering on those who deserve it. However, the Ghost is so powerful and cruel that it needs a human host to balance its thirst for vengeance with morality and compassion. Otherwise, every little moment of bad behaviour would be avenged with the fire of Hell. As Marvel’s most powerful demonic force, Mephistopheles has repeatedly gotten in the way of the Spirit of Vengeance. Now, it seems that the Mephistopheles sect is continuing this great tradition.

The upcoming Ghost Rider #21 recap speculates what stopping the sect means for Ghost Rider’s future, asking, “Could this be the end of an era?”.

Talia Warroad is the most obvious candidate to be the next Spirit of Vengeance. Former SHIELD agent and paranormal investigator Talia works with the Ghost Rider to eradicate larger supernatural threats. After becoming attracted to Blaze through a series of supernatural visions. It would make sense if these visions told Talia more than she realized. In fact, they would have predicted his future as the next host of the Spirit of Vengeance.

Oddly enough, if Talia does become Ghost Rider, she’ll be the second ex-SHIELD agent to replace a deadly Marvel hero in months. Assassin Joe Garrison became Marvel’s new Punisher after Frank Castle was banished to Weirdworld. Ghost Rider and Punisher have been working together for a long time. It would be really cool to see Talia and Joe team up as the deadly “new kids” of the Marvel Universe.

The Punisher and Ghost Rider share the exact cosmic origin. Defenders Beyond revealed the existence of “Of-Vengeance”. It is a god archetype from an earlier version of the universe. Of-Vengeance is the mystical predecessor of Ghost Rider and Punisher, and both heroes’ designs come from the skull-headed god.
