Epic Games Store: Free Games Coming In January Could Be Revealed?!

The Epic Games Store is releasing some extra Mystery Games for the start of 2024, and players can already know what to expect…

The Epic Games Store started its annual Mystery Games sale on December 13, 2023. Here, for the first time, Destiny 2: Legacy Collection was distributed at no extra cost to Epic’s user base. From there, the next game was the DNF Duel on December 20. This started the true Mystery Games tradition of offering a game every single day until the New Year.

These free games are an excellent way for the Epic Games Store to get into the holiday spirit, offering these titles as gifts to those who have supported the store for years or even just recently signed up for free games.

However, previous Mystery Game promotions ended sometime after the start of the New Year. Now, it seems that Christmas will last a little longer this year! EGS Mystery Games leaked all the way back to January 11 with quite a bit of credit behind them. While some players want to keep what’s on offer on the platform a surprise, others like to watch leaks and rumours to know what’s coming. This way, they can prepare for the games they want. If this leak is to be believed, it looks like the Mystery Games promotion is going to end with a serious bang.

Free Mystery Games, or the Epic Games Store’s first week of free games in January 2024

The supposed final “Mystery Games” list comes from a relatively unknown source. However, well-known and reputable leaker Billbill-kun stated that this list has a “95% chance” of being correct. However, two of the games on the list have already been released as Mystery Games, confirming the list’s correctness.

  • 20 Minutes Till Dawn (January 2-3)
  • A Plague Tale: Innocence (January 3-4)
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (January 4-11)

The last leaked game in EGS’ mystery game action is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which wraps up the daily free games series with a rather interesting 2021 title. The game is known for its in-depth combat options, smaller exploration stages, and opportunities to socialize and connect with the characters. It may have had a mixed reception, but it holds its own in many ways for some.

While free-to-play a game like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a great option, it begs the question of whether GotG can be considered the last mystery game or the first actual Epic Games Store free game of the week in 2024.

It will all depend on how the game is presented. Either way, fans will have a week to claim the Marvel video game as it goes live today. After that, all games will be available as usual for a week once players have settled in for the new year with the latest free games.
