Diablo 4: Robot Companion Coming in Season 3, Developers Say!

The developers of Diablo 4 have confirmed an exciting robot companion feature that will be one of the new features coming in the upcoming Season 3.

Diablo 4 has confirmed that the new robot companion will scale 1:1 with the player’s stats. Diablo 4 Season 2 is in its final days and players are already gearing up for the next season and its content.

Diablo 4 Season 3, called Season of Construct, comes with many new features. The highlight is the debut of a new antagonist, Malphas, a powerful demon who plans to take over the Sanctuary with his army. Diablo 4 promises new challenges, Vaults, a new dungeon filled with elemental dangers, and Construct, an enemy that appears in multiple forms. Six new Uniques are coming with the new season, and Diablo 4 revealed two of those Uniques while highlighting the potential of Warlocks and Druids. Another new feature coming with the season of Construct is the AI-controlled robot Seneschal Companion. And to add to the hype, Diablo 4 has confirmed that this ally will be very useful thanks to an exciting feature.

Diablo 4 class designer Season White confirmed that the companion bot will scale 1:1 with player stats. Taking to Twitter, White explained how the new addition to the game will work, saying that “the player’s attack and critical stats will be the same as the robot’s”. When asked if this scaling would apply to aspects, damage buffs from Diablo 4 unique items, or Paragon Nodes, he confirmed that the bot will inherit the raw stat boost and damage bonus effect. White clarified that the Seneschal Companion will not proc Legendary Items, Paragons, etc. passive effects like “you have a % chance to summon Fireball,” but it still sounds pretty useful.

The Seneschal Companion will be available during the Diablo 4 Season 3 seasonal quest line. Each player will receive a robot that can participate directly in combat or help from the sidelines. Using magical Governing and Tuning Stones, players can customize the robot to match their character’s build. Diablo 4 introduces 12 Governing Stones, two of which players can equip to determine the Seneschal’s attacks. There will be 27 Tuning Stones, from which players can choose six to increase their abilities and provide utility to their new companion.

After a tough first season and a successful second season that made Diablo 4 a faster game, Season 3 aims to continue the game’s upward trajectory. One example of this is the introduction of the Seneschal robot, which gives Diablo 4 players a traditional role-playing gameplay element with the franchise’s dark fantasy twist. Along with other content and improvements designed to enhance the player experience, players will have plenty to enjoy in the coming months as they await the first Diablo 4 expansion.
